What have we let ourselves in for !!!
Well lads, is it going to rain or not ?

 3.    Meeting at the 'Grey Mere' in Belthorn   - Sunday 3rd April

Picture
Well what's wrong in meeting at a pub !!
Much needed support was on hand from Cotton Shed member, Mark Fraser.
I think if we had a spare helmet, Mark would have been on the back with us.

 5. Monday 16th May - Land's End.

Picture
Well at long last we are about to start.
We decided to take the scenic route today via the A39 coast road to Bude, Bideford and Barnstable. Then IIlfracombe and the coast road along the Exmoor national park.  Then the M5 off at Junction 6 to Shrewsbury. Total time riding today was 11 hours !!!

 2.     Preparation are well under way.

Picture
Seriously though, on the day Hail, Rain or Snow, nothing is stopping us.
All overnight accommodation is now sorted out and all our fuel stops are planned for the whole trip.

 4.  Sunday 15th May - Land's End

Picture
Well, we are here at long last, what a journey !!
We have got to the end of the begining and tomorrow we set off on the begining of the end.
We have been lucky with the weather as we have missed all the bad weather that you guys in the North West have had today Further updates tomorrow

6. Land's End - First and Last Pub In England

Picture
To keep you all informed, we couldn't get wi-fi access in the hotel so the only place we could actually get access was the pub !!!

 7. Tuesday morning 17th May - Shrewsbury

Picture
After leaving Land's End our next destination was a stop over in Shrewsbury, courtesy of Andy and his wife.
Andy is Co Director of Hometyre, of which there is more information on the sponsor page.

 9. 4:15 pm Wednesday 18th May,           we have finally arrived.

Picture
We had a fantastic ride today, leaving Glenshee at around 09:30 heading for Pitlochry and Aviemore. Here we had a stop for about an hour and managed to get Wi Fi access to download  yesterdays photos. From here we then headed up the A9 towards Inverness and towards       John O' Groats. We encountered Rain and mist most of the way but the beauty of these roads and the scenery more than compensate for the weather. We finally arrived at 16:15 after completing 285 miles today.

 11. Aviemore 19th May

Picture
.
We left Thurso this morning to start our journey home south
After taking an interersting detour we ended up in Helmsdale, Alness and Aviemore. At this point in the journey we made an executive decision that we had had enough of biking and decided to get the bus home !!!

 8. Tuesday Evening 17th May - Glenshee overnight stop

Picture
The journey from Shrewsbury to Glenshee was hampered by rain all the way to Abingdon service and after roughly 8 hours riding we arrived at our next overnight stay with friends in the Compass Christian Centre. After a quick pint we had a barbeque with our host, Roger Clare.

 10. What's next lads !!!

Picture
When we arrived at John O' Groats at 16:15 the photogapher based here had just locked up his hut for the day and removed the sign post  and was just about to get into his car. The sight of 3 motorcyclists heading for him at a fair rate of knots and quite a bit off gentle persuasion, he changed his mind and opened up again for us

 12.Spital of Glenshee Hotel - !9th May

Picture
Enjoying a great last evening with our hosts, Roger and Kitty at the Glenshee Hotel having a great meal and a couple of celebratory pints.
The weather as we wake up for our trip home (Friday) is dreadful with heavy rain and Scots mist for as far as you can see.
